Just wanted to drop a note and officially say thank you for a wonderful renovation.

Sitting here on a wintery evening in our lovely warm home it’s hard to remember how we managed to put off the renovation for 10 years, my biggest regret so far is that we did not do it sooner!

Our research and selection into different builders consisted of talking to friends and neighbours, also we had used some architectural sketches and had lists of builders from them too. My strongest impressions were formed by a neighbour and 2 friends who had recent experience with Dale. All three had high praise for workmanship and overall quality of service. I too would happily select Lyndale again. We have been passing on contact details to anyone who is interested, I would not do this if I was not completely happy with the experience and end result.

Before we started Dale talked through plans and helped us with some of the finer points of our design and build details. Dale offers advice and options with the voice of experience. I had planned to be more involved in the process, however my work got busy and I was not able to spend as much time as I had hoped, this meant that I was relying more heavily on Dale and limited phone calls and visits to check up and make decisions when required. Happily there was a good timetable and we had heads up warnings about when some decisions needed to be made – things like which tiles to use in the bathroom, what toilet, what carpet… We managed to keep more or less to the schedule, and so did Dale and his crew – they finished 2mths early!

Dale has been building homes around Williamstown and Yarraville for ages, he has a team of happy tradies who all seem to work together and get the job done with the minimal of fuss. These guys seem like they know how to work together as a team, we ended up with good concreters, bricklayer, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, flooring guy, painters..etc. At the end of the day it’s not just the builder, it’s the builder and his team, these guys all respect Dale, and we ended up with a high end quality finish as a result. Dale was also great with our neighbours, there was absolutely no mess and good communication about what was going on.

I think there is an element of luck in these larger projects, fortunately we had it on our side and our reno went very well. I would go as far as saying “smooth”. There are going to be hiccups in any project (we had a door in the wrong place and forgot about AC) – but at the end of the day, it’s how these things are managed and dealt with. Dale is a good guy to have at the helm.

End result is that we have a lovely, functional, warm, well finished home – that is better than I ever imagined it would be.

We engaged Dale Goucher of Lyndale Homes as our builder for substantial renovations to our existing Edwardian home. We selected Dale through an extensive tender process and our decision has resulted in a spectacular transformation of our single fronted inner-suburban home.

The building stage was a collaborative and cohesive process, resulting from the relationship and rapport Dale had developed with all stakeholders, including the architect. Any unforeseen issues were resolved amicably and variations dealt with in a professional manner and with humour (essential in these situations).

We knew this was going to be a demanding and difficult project, namely due to the heritage restrictions of the area, the restricted foot-print, and the adjoining buildings. At all times Dale was responsive, accessible, cordial and professional.

We would definitely engage Dale again for any future building projects and highly recommend him without any hesitation.

We had the pleasure of instructing Lyndale Homes of Williamstown to construct our dream home at Cowrie Road, Torquay.

From the outset the project was substantial, as we decided to architecturally design our home and involve Lyndale in all aspects from inception. Having a Melbourne builder take on a project some 100kms away from their base was out of the ordinary, but it proved a great challenge to run the project on budget and maintain the quality they are known for. We are so happy with the end result.

I first met Dale and Lynette 15 years ago, while owning a local business. Before finding the right builder, I made many enquiries to find a builder that had a quality name around our town, Lyndale was our choice after much investigation.

The construction of our home was a 5 star journey with Lyndale Homes and the result was a stunning 35 square home that to this day looks as new as the day it was built. The process and timeline of the build was commensurate with the projects size and not once did we have any concerns with workmanship. In fact, since the build we have had no concerns structurally with our home and it has weathered four solid winters on the surf coast.

Right from the outset, when I first met you both in my living room in North Melbourne, I knew you were special. You both exhibited a very warm and friendly demeanour. You were clearly passionate about building and about ensuring that what I wished to build and my Architect – Francis Wai – had conceived – came to fruition.

You took the time to get to know me and to get to know my house. You took the time to explain to me what would be involved in the building process and you took unlimited time to listen and to answer my questions. You made me feel, at all stages from the beginning, and right through the construction period, that I and my project were special and I was the most important client. I know I wasn’t, but that is how I felt.

Whilst the relationship was always professional, I also felt that you were friends. From the earliest times in the construction process I have been utterly proud to have been able to say “my builders are Dale and Lynette of Lyndale Homes and they are the most incredible builders you could ever wish for.

You were generous in accommodating late changes that I and my architect put to you. You were incredible with the way you dealt with issues in the neighbourhood and I have no doubt that your sheer strength of personality and warm and friendly manner ensured that even at the most stressful and difficult times during construction – everything ran smoothly.

I have never worked with a builder who keeps his construction site so clean and tidy. It was a marvel to me how determined you were to ensure that the site was left, every day, in a supremely safe, clean and tidy fashion. This to me shows a true pride in the concept of construction and a total respect for the workforce working on the site.

I should have known all the above would occur Before you were appointed to the job, Francis Wai, had on my behalf done a lot of research on builders and people to approach to tender for the project. The feedback we had on Lyndale Homes was very, very good.

I have had the opportunity to show off the house to many people since it’s been built. Everyone who has seen it has been “blown away” by the unexpected interlinking of old and modern. They love the architecture, they love the engineering and they love the quality of the construction.

Personally if I could afford to build again I would love to do so. I would without hesitation ask you to build for me again. The experience was one of incredible excitement and reward.

Dale and Lynette, to say thank you is simply not enough. What you achieved in constructing my house has turned my affair with my pre-renovation home into the most spectacular love affair with my post construction home.

I owe you both and all at Lyndale Homes the most incredible debt of gratitude. You built the dream so that I could live in the dream.

Just a short note to express how pleased we are with the renovation Lyndale Homes’ team did on our house in Kingsville.

Building/renovating can be stressful, however we didn’t encounter any major issues during the build. Any problems that did crop up were quickly resolved. This helped to keep our stress levels down, although it did mean that we had no “horror” stories to tell people about renovating! All the trades were great and the site would have to have been the tidiest building site ever (thanks Dale!).

We engaged Lyndale Homes to build our perfect getaway home in Anglesea. Seven years later we are just as in love with the home as the day Dale & Lynette handed the keys to us. They looked after everything, town planning, structurals, decking, fences and the landscaping, all we had to do was light the fire and pour a glass of wine to celebrate our new pad.

We are very happy with our home built by Lyndale in Williamstown. There have been no issues since we moved in which is an excellent situation following a fairly complicated building job utilising existing brick and concrete construction in the renovation of the house and the addition of a large extension.

Much of the building work included new materials and eco friendly innovation that the tradespeople were working with for the first time and they were all willing and prepared to try new techniques. One example was that the cabinetry was all constructed from low formaldehyde board. We arranged for some samples for the cabinet maker to test before he started making the kitchen and subsequently everything was completed to a very high standard.
It was an advantage having Lyndale just a phone call and a short distance away throughout the building project. When we needed to sort things out it was handled promptly with a high level of professionalism. We are very happy to recommend the team at Lyndale as a result of our experience.
